A networking-based event where producers can share their sound, and connect with artists and other producers to create more music, emcees can be part of the cipher and attendees can share their music via the Pass The Aux portion of the event. What is Sound Makers Social?

Sound Makers Social is a community-driven event that centers producers, beatmakers, and the creative process. It’s a space to share beats, perform live, connect with other creatives, and experience music in a relaxed, culture-first environment.

Who can participate as a producer?

Any producer or beatmaker—bedroom to professional—is welcome. You don’t need a big following, a release history, or a polished catalog. If you make beats, you belong here.

What are the two ways to play my beats?

There are two participation options:

OPEN AUX

Plug in via AUX
Play finished or unfinished beats
Low-pressure, listening-focused
Great for first-timers or testing new ideas
THIS IS OPEN FOR EVERYONE TO SIGN UP. SIGN UPS BEGIN 3OMINS BEFORE THE DOORS OPEN. EACH ARTIST GETS 2MINS TO PLUG IN A SHARE THIER MUSIC WITH THE AUDIENCE. BE THERE TO SIGN UP AND GET A GOOD SPOT ON THE LIST.

LIVE BEAT CONTROLLER SET

Perform live using controllers or beat machines (MPC, SP-404, MIDI controllers, etc.)
Hands-on, performance-based
Ideal for showcasing your process and live creativity

Do I need to choose one option in advance?

Yes. We ask producers to select either OPEN AUX or LIVE BEAT CONTROLLER SET when SUBMITTING TO SIGN UP so we can organize the flow of the event and make sure everyone has a smooth experience. REMEMBER THE SUBMISSION FORM DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN YOU WILL BE PERFORMING AS A FEATURED PRODUCER. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY OUR TEAM WHEN YOU ARE SELECTED TO BE FEATURED AT FUTURE EVENTS

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

ONLY IF SELECTED AS A FEATURED PRODUCER

OPEN AUX: Just bring your phone, laptop or tablet with your beats ready to play.

LIVE BEAT CONTROLLER SET: Bring your controller, beat machine, and any essential cables or power supplies needed for your setup. (YOU NEED TO SUBMIT AND BE OFFICIALLY BOOKED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. SUBMIT ONLINE OR TAP IN WITH US AT THE NEXT SOCIAL)

We’ll have standard audio connections available to keep transitions smooth.

Can I play unreleased or unfinished beats?

Yes. Sound Makers Social encourages experimentation and process. Finished tracks, rough drafts, and works-in-progress are all welcome.

Is this a competition or a showcase?

No. Sound Makers Social is not a competition. There are no winners or losers—this is about sharing, listening, learning, and building community.

Is the event free to attend and participate?

Yes. Thanks to Culture Blocks, Sound Makers Social is completely free for both attendees and participating producers.

Will I be paid to play my beats?

This specific event focuses on community engagement and creative exchange. If you are selected as FEATURED PRODUCER you will be compensated as an independent contractor to perform your controller beat set.

Other than that - come and add to the vibe and you can sign up to be part of the PASS THE AUX Segment.

How do I sign up to play my beats?

You can sign up directly through the Sound Makers Social RSVP or HERE. Remember that your submission does not mean you are automatically selected to be a FEATURED PERFORMER. Our team will reach out if you are booked for future events. Only one submission is needed and we will keep your information for future events. You can also show up to the venue early on the DAY OF EVENT to sign-up to play beats during the OPEN AUX Segment. Be sure to select:

OPEN AUX: YOU NEED TO ARRIVE TO THE EVENT STARTING AT 6P BEFORE DOORS OPEN TO SIGN UP TO BE PART OF THE OPEN AUX SEGMENT OF THE EVENT. SIGN UPS ARE DAY OF EVENT AND THE SIGN UP LIST STARTS 30MINS BEFORE DOORS OPEN.

LIVE BEAT CONTROLLER SET: REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE SELECTED FOR THE EVENT TO BE A FEATURED PRODUCER.

What happens if I don’t get booked as a FEATURED PRODUCER?

Slots are limited. If you’re not selected this round, your information stays on file and you’ll be first to hear about future Sound Makers Social events and opportunities.

Can I attend even if I’m not playing beats?

Absolutely. You can attend to listen, network, support other producers, and get inspired—no pressure to perform.
