Every second is a moment in time that we will never get back. Many times I try to stay still to soak in the time. Every emotion, every feeling, every thought that I am having all create the moment. The people that we spend our time with are forever immortalized through memory and stories that we can tell until we become memories and stories ourselves.
Though the present is the immediate moment, I am always mentally visiting past memories to get back a feeling or an emotion that I had or shared with someone in the past. For instance, revisiting times when I wasn't aware of all of the problems in the world, when my family was unified, or when I was hanging out with friends that I haven't been able to see if a while.
I am a producer but I often feel like a photographer. Trying to capture what I am feeling and thinking at the very moment I am in the studio. Finding the right ingredients to create a dish for the occasion. Whether enraged, hyped up or in love - the moments dictate the feeling, and the feelings dictate the vibe that is captured in every song.
You can sometimes guess the situation or how I was feeling when I recorded a song or made a beat based on the overall aesthetic. I am developing a signature sound, but also each creation can be a bit different. Every song is created from the present, past, and sometimes future. We are like time travelers to some degree.
